Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a hands on (but can be done hands off depending on what’s comfortable for the client) healing technique in which the practitioner channels Universal Life Force energy (Chi/Qi) for the client to activate the natural healing process within the client’s body.
The term Reiki comes from the Japanese word Rei which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. This Universal Life Force energy flows through all living things, and it is believed that when this energy gets low, blocked, or out of balance that is when illness occurs (dis-ease). By channeling the Reiki energy during a session, it facilitates the healing of the energetic body of the client.
Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, however, it may aide in mental/emotional/physical healing within the client by creating an environment that facilitates healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and many hospitals/health care facilities are now practicing Reiki as well.
What to Expect During a Session
At the beginning of the session the client and the Reiki practitioner will discuss the client’s intention for the healing session and if there are any particular issues the client is wishing to address.
During the actual session the client will lay on a massage table with their shoes removed, but a session may also be completed with the client sitting comfortably in a chair. Unlike massage the shoes are the only articles of clothing to be removed and comfortable clothing is recommended.
During the session the practitioner will use various hand positions while channeling Reiki into the client, usually starting at the head and moving down to the client’s feet. This can be done with the practitioner’s hands hovering slightly above the client or hands on, in which the practitioner will apply a very light touch during the healing. Either method is equally effective, it is dependent upon what the client is comfortable with.
Client’s experiences of receiving Reiki vary among individuals. Common experiences include a warm tingling sensation, warmth, seeing colors/images, or just a deep sense of relaxation. Regardless of what is experienced by the client, know that Reiki is doing its’ job and that healing is taking place. Overall Clients usually leave feeling relaxed and invigorated.

Empowered Reiki Level I- Beginning the Path to Empowerment
In this class you will begin your path as a certified Reiki practitioner of the first degree. Learn how to become a channel of the universal life force energy, also known as chi/qi, using the hands on healing method known as Reiki as taught by Dr. Mikao Usui. In this class you will be introduced to the five Reiki principles and how to apply them to all areas of your life to bring more peace and enlightenment into your everyday life. During this class you will also be attuned to the Reiki power symbol, which is traditionally taught in level two, however we prefer to empower our students with this symbol at the beginning of their path. After receiving their attunements students will have the chance to practice their newly learned techniques with one another. Learning Reiki is an amazing way to boost you along your spiritual path, improve your personal awareness, and aid you to remain centered in what can seem as an otherwise chaotic environment.

Level 2~Deepening your Understanding
In Reiki level two you will learn the three powerful Reiki symbols for Empowerment, Mental/Emotional, and Distance/Absent healing. These highly effective symbols can be used to support healing, calmness, and clarity in both yourself and in others. The Distance/Absent symbol will take your Reiki practice to the next level, allowing you to offer Reiki even to those you cannot touch, while the Mental/Emotional symbol will help you to bring balance to both hemispheres of the brain to promote whole brain thinking. Deepen your understanding and experience of the extraordinary healing and transformative powers of Reiki. Upon completion you will receive a certificate as an Usui Reiki Practitioner of the second degree. This class will be facilitated by Reiki Master Teachers Angie Loren and Melissa Towson.

Master Level~The Mystery
Enter the mystery level of Reiki and be attuned to the Reiki master symbol. Improve ability to connect with the universal life force energy even further, and further the understanding that we are all the masters of our own destiny. Upon completion you will receive a certificate as an Usui Reiki Master Practitioner.
Pre-requisites Reiki I and II with any teacher.
